Your new future
Juline Counselling is for everyone – It doesn’t matter who you are. A young adult struggling with anxiety, pressure or identity. A parent trapped in a difficult relationship. Or an executive worried about the cracks appearing in their life. We all need help at times.
You don’t need to prepare. You can show up just as you are right now. We can start from there and look together at whatever you are finding difficult. We do this at your own pace and only when you are ready.
Find a new way – If you are struggling to cope, it may be time to find a new way of doing things. Gently, we can start to make sense of things, so that you feel better and can move forward. You can arrange a consultation easily. This may be the single most important thing you can do for yourself right now!
Frequently asked questions
What issues can you help with?
I am happy to help with most issues. We will be able to discuss this fully at the first session. More details on specific issues and a fuller list can be found lower down on this page.
How much do you charge?
Fees are charged on the basis of a weekly, 50-minute session as follows:
– Face to face therapy – £85 per session
– Online therapy – £70 per session.*
* This applies only where the initial agreement is for online therapy. Where we have an agreement for face to face therapy, the usual fee is payable.
If you are not sure about wanting therapy or want to find out more, please ask for one of the following:
- A FREE 25-minute consultation by zoom or telephone
- An Introductory Session (face to face £45 or online £40)
This will give you the chance to talk about what you would like from therapy and/or get the feel of what it is like to have a session at the venue you choose.
How long does therapy last?
Counselling can be short or long term. It can be open-ended if you are not sure how long you will need (which is quite usual). We can discuss your needs in our first consultation or session. It is very rare for me to end therapy before you want it to end. So almost always, you decide how long therapy lasts.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. In counselling and psychotherapy, confidentiality is vital to the therapeutic relationship. I will give you a copy of my Confidentiality and Disclosure Policy and explain it to you when you are considering entering therapy with me. The Policy also sets out the limited circumstances in which I may disclose your personal information to another person.
Do you have a Privacy Notice and a Cookies Policy?
Yes. These cover how I handle your personal information in therapy and when you access my website. You can view them on my Privacy Notice page.
Are the venues wheelchair accessible and suitable if I have mobility issues?
The Bloomsbury venue is a listed building and has not been adapted. The waiting room and counselling room are upstairs and access is unsuitable for people with severe mobility problems.
The Camden Town venue has not been adapted. The waiting room and counselling room are upstairs and access is unsuitable for people with severe mobility problems.
*Venue suspended at present* The Kings Cross/Camden venue is wheelchair accessible. There is a lift between reception, counselling rooms and other facilities. If you decide at the first session that access isn’t adequate, I will not charge you for the session.
Do you provide counselling on sexuality and gender identity issues?
Yes. Please see my separate page for details of my approach and ethical framework.
Do you provide counselling for survivors of abuse, neglect or trauma in childhood?
Yes, this is one of my main interests. Please see also: Abuse in childhood
Do you provide counselling for adoption issues?
Please see my blog post on this issue.
Do you make a diagnosis?
As a psychotherapist, I do not make a medical diagnosis such as “depression”, “personality disorder” or “being on the autistic spectrum”. Instead, I work more with what you are experiencing in your life, for example feeling depressed or anxious, mood swings, difficulty with managing your emotions or difficulty relating to people or situations. I am also happy to talk about your feelings about a diagnosis you have received or how you feel about getting one if you haven’t already.
